The Viz Cinema in San Francisco's Japantown district has scheduled a October 11 screening of virtual idol Hatsune Miku's "film concert" with the idol's creator as an in-person special guest. The show is billed as an "encore" to the previous screening of the concert, Hatsune Miku's first official U.S. appearance, at the September 19 J-Pop Summit Festival.

At the Nico Nico Douga Daikaigi 2010 Summer: Egao no Chikara event, YAMAHA, Fuji TV Kids, and the Internet Co. Ltd. music and software company announced that they would release a new voice pack for the Vocaloid2 singing simulation softare. The pack will be based on the Gachapin character from Hirake! Ponkikki, a popular Fuji TV kids' program which ran from 1973 to 1993. The "Gachapoid" Gachapin x Vocaloid voice pack CD will be released on October 8 with a special green case and a free six-month subscription to Nico Nico Douga's premium paid service.
Iroha Nekomura
(猫村いろは Nekomura Iroha) is a collaboration between AH-Software and company Sanrio (a "kittyler" or someone who likes the Sanrio character Hello Kitty for the "Hello Kitty to Issho!" project) was announced in early August. She will be released on October 22, 2010.
